Gabriel's Gate Restaurant

Found this place on the Internet, suggested by a google search. Went and got their tuna melt and my partner got the chicken burger, wow, think it’s up there with “the best tuna melt in my memories” list. Food was quite decent, service was nice too, although our food came quite slow, maybe because there was a big group before us. But the overall quality of the food is great, would visit again. The decor was super cool too, the place used to be a tavern I believe, and they kept a lot of the old architectural style.

The wings were really good. If you like tender saucy wings these are for you. If you go for more dry crunchy wings this is not the place for you. The french onion soup was amazing despite it coming out warm not hot. The cheese was solid because it wasn't hot enough, but it was still one of the best french onion soups I've ever had. We got the "gate" sandwich which was HUGE and delicious and a cheeseburger. The burger patty was VERY good. The fries were good but nothing special. My only complaint is the price is high for the place. With the reviews and the price I thought it would be like relativity nice restaurant, but it's really just a bar with good food. The place was not clean (dusty dirty) and the decor was tacky. The booths are horribly uncomfortable. I would not go there again to dine in, but I would probably sit at the bar and have wings and a beer if I was in the area.

Amazing friendly and helpful service in a comfortable, unique environment. We had the delicious French onion soup, which is a must. Also had both the buffalo and bbq wings...best wings I've ever eaten. Had to wait a bit for them, but so worth it! Great place for kids, too! Highly recommend despite all of the average reviews here. I'm so glad I ignored them.

Stumbled on this gem due to a gift certificate my Brother and Sister in laws gave us for Christmas. My Husband and I went on a much needed date night and new job celebration! We were promptly greeted and our very lovely waitress came right over to put in our drink order and was very attentive our whole stay.I definitely had a “cheat” day on my food lol but it did NOT disappoint! We will definitely be back!!

My boyfriend and I decided to go here because we were craving a steak sub and it was around 10 p.m. so there weren't many restaurants open. We ordered the steak sub with onion rings and some chicken wings. The wings were pretty good but the steak sub was not. The onion rings were ok. This is definitely not the place to go if you're craving a steak sub! However the service was pretty good. I would go back and try something else on the menu.

We came to Gabriel's on a recommendation while visiting from Delaware. Out goal was to have excellent wings in Buffalo. Unfortunately we failed in that regard . The ambience of Gabriel's is excellent. They have a reasonable beer list. It's a neat place. The wings unfortunately didn't live up to the hype. They were dry and relatively tasteless. The service unfortunately wasn't very good either. We had to track out attendant down whenever we needed her. Next time we are in town we will be trying a new place.

Our daughter introduced us to this place several years ago and we've enjoyed every visit. This is a wonderfully unique restaurant and definitely worth a visit... even if you have to go out of your way to get there. The food is excellent and the service is very good. And you aren't going to find a more eclectic setting.
